This stereogram is derived from part of an original painting (acrylic on illustration board, 15x20 inches, 1981), one of a sequence illustrating the history of the Universe and the origin of the Solar System. The view depicts the birthplace of our Sun (still situated inside the nearby dark globule at left) within a star-forming complex 4.6 billion years ago.
